I love to read the news from time to time. There are many things happening around us, and those stories with catchy titles and images will get the reader's attention first. The predictive feature of online articles will guide you to a similar article, so you know more as you read on. Many times I get ideas on what to write from the things I read as they are valid sources, timely and relevant as well.
When we read an article, even a single word, or line, or paragraph can touch or move us. So it is the same way. I do not know who my readers are. I see the number growing, organically. I do not promote it. I just invite some few close friends, less than the number of my hand fingers, if there are topics that might be of interest to them.
Many online articles have this common title which knocks thrice on my brains: "Where are they now?" Oh, yes, where are they now?
You Google-search the key words 'where are they now' + your place, say, 'UAE'.

My search bar led me to the following as of writing time --
Where are they now? Universal Studios Dubailand
Where are they now? Abu Dhabi's Pamela Anderson eco-hotel
If you go on searching online without the specific place, it will show you names, mostly the forgotten celebrities' names.
At 1:00 AM today I drafted the speech of a successful Asian businessman who came from the so-called Land of the Kings. He is featured in a book about successful men and women from his place of origin. I admire him firstly because of how he loves and respects his mother, and how humbly he deals with each and every person in his team and business, letting each one of them feel dignified regardless of status in life.
When he was three (3) years old, his father died, and he was raised by his mother with the help of his uncle. Nine years he worked in Dubai, and after that set up his own business which has been running for 15 years successfully. He married a very lovely woman whose life centers around faith. They are blessed with two (2) handsome boys. He takes care of his mother in her golden days. No wonder he has just received his UAE golden visa as I myself have been touched by his golden heart and unconditional support for some years. My deep respect goes to him.
It is not surprising to know many success stories of those who experienced the bottom rock failures and losses in life, then persevered and worked hard to get to a place where they must belong. And they are always remembered because they inspire people.
The "Where are they now?" question, most often than not, is linked to the forgotten ones. Of course, many of us do not want to be forgotten, so we do not want to be written in the roll of names under that title.
Adam West said,
I've always shied away from 'Where they are now?' shows because I've been lucky enough to keep working, and people know where I am.Not everyone has the same line of thinking. Sometimes when things go wrong, we hibernate. It is like we want to be away from all the noises of the world -- that feeling that we like to evaporate and we want to be forgotten. In social media, we get offline and or invisible if online. We can passionately migrate from one place to another, real or imagined, where we can find peace. We are free to do what we think is right to protect our mental health. Nobody can question us on that.
When there are challenges, know this, as told by Martin Luther King, Jr. --
The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenges and controversy. While I am sipping my morning coffee, I am thinking about my family. Their faces appear in my mind. Where are they now -- each of them, where are they now? Do they think of me, too -- where I am now? How many of us think that way, and if away from the family, we call them via voice or video chat, with compassion and love?
The internet technology is supposed to connect us in a positive way but as we have the luxury of mobility and glued to the online grid, not to mention the influence of hyperconsumerism and materialism, we get disconnected from the most important people in our lives, sad to say.
Let's take a pause for a moment, pray for those we have forgotten, and reconnect with them even with a simple "How are you? Where are you now?"
