Sometimes we are afraid to do what must be done for the simple reason that we think we cannot do it, that there are limitations or barriers that stop us from the very start or along the way.
Many people are stuck because of this mentality, for a day, or weeks, months, and even years. If we compute the lowest minimum earnings one can get per day and multiply that with the number of days on stuck mode, that is called opportunity cost -- the price one has to pay when he glues his back to the bed or thinks he is a tree that cannot move from where he stands.
It happens to everyone that at a certain point in time he loses such a momentum. Opportunities do not wait. It takes some baby steps to know what to do.
The advent of technology is a big help to people because within a few mouseclicks, with internet connection and gadgets we have a smart access to apps or platforms that will help us to know what to do. There are community fora, websites, infographics, and other online tools that will help us to do things in an easier and faster way.
Technology people are very intelligent that they find solutions to many people's problems. For example, to know if you have a travel ban due to a financial case, you can avoid being stopped and getting embarrassed at the Dubai, UAE airport by checking through the authority website or app, and you will be guided on what to do next.
If you want to buy a house in Dubai, Gulf News featured this article "Step-by-step Guide to Buying a House".
If you have a child to study in Dubai, you will be guided by the same e-newspaper's "10 Steps to Choosing the Right Schools in the UAE".
Baby steps are simple steps that help us to take the next appropriate actions parallel to our current situation and our goals.
Most often than not, we think that big steps are the ones needed for us to move forward, but no.
1. Use the Rule of 5. Every day you should take action on five (5) specific things that will move you closer to achieving your goal.
2. Look for simple ways to link positive new habits and behaviors to the things you are already doing.
3. Keep track of your activities and review your progress regularly.

One may walk over the highest mountain one step at a time.I have dreamed to write a book since my childhood days. My son challenged me. He said that I have been a writer and editor for many decades but I have not authored my own book. I was surprised that he put up his own publishing house (startup) so he could publish the book he authored. A single baby step has made his journey something to watch for, and for a mother, with great excitement and high hopes. Now I am determined to release my first book this year, as he pushes me repeatedly to go finish it.
There is a popular Chinese proverb --
A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step.We always hear this but we always ignore it. (A reminder to self. Mmm.)
If there is a problem which seems huge and you are overwhelmed by it and you think that there is no way to solve it, take the first baby step. Do your research, talk to people who can help and do something.
Passionately move forward one step at a time to the future.
What to do if you think and feel that you are not supposed to be there where you are now? Make a decision. Decide.
Chauncey Depew said,
The first step towards getting somewhere is to decide that you are not going to stay where you are.
